left home winelist events about right

After living in Ebrach, Germany, for many years, we made the decision in 1999 to come to McLean County, where we purchased our small farm. Our dream had always been to be involved with farming and although we hadn't originally thought about grapes, that's exactly where our interests led us.

In 2003, we planted the first vines on three acres and have been adding new ones ever since. Twelve acres are currently planted with Seyval Blanc, Frontenac, Foch, Traminette, Cayuga White, Steuben, Chardonel, St. Croix, Marquette, Kay Gray and Johannisberg Riesling grapes.

In 2010, we purchased the neighboring property which included a log home that has been remodeled into our winery and tasting room. The construction of the pond followed and on Memorial Day 2011 we opened the tasting room to the public.

In 2013 our Bernese Red won a Silver Medal at the Illinois State Fair Wine Competition. Check your local stores for our wine.

To learn more about the winery see this article "Unique Field: Alumna's vineyard dream takes root in Illinois." dated February 15, 2016 from the ISU Alumni Magazine.

But if you are in the area, please visit us at the winery! We welcome guests to share our dream.
